Day 1 Paro Airport – Thimphu
Meet & Greet on arrival at Paro Airport and transfer to Thimphu (7,710 ft) the capital city of Bhutan. On arrival check in at the hotel. Evening explore the Thimpu town by walk. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 2 Thimphu Sightseeing
After breakfast, head out to explore Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Point), where a massive Buddha statue overlooks the valley, offering a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere. Continue your visit to the National Memorial Chorten and the Folk Heritage Museum to experience Bhutan’s rich culture and traditions.
In the afternoon, enjoy scenic views from Sangaygang View Point, then visit Changangkha Monastery. Later, stop by the Takin Preserve Centre, where you can see Bhutan’s unique national animal, the Takin. Conclude the day with a visit to Tashichho Dzong, also known as the Fortress of the Glorious Religion.
Return for an overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 3 Thimphu – Punakha/Wangdue Sightseeing
After breakfast, drive to Punakha/Wangdue, stopping at Dochu-La Pass (3,150 m) for stunning Himalayan views. On arrival, check in at the hotel.
In the afternoon, visit Punakha Dzong, a historic fortress built in 1637 and once the seat of Bhutan’s government. Later, take a short excursion to Chhimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility), built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley.
Evening at leisure. Overnight stay in Punakha/Wangdue.
Day 4 Punakha/Wangdue – Paro
After breakfast drive to Paro (7,483 ft.). On the way stop at Lamperi to visit Royal Botanical Park – The park contains a rich biodiversity of flora and fauna and features a huge species of plants and animals including endangered species. On arrival check in at the hotel. Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay at Paro.
Day 5 Full Day Paro Sightseeing
After breakfast, visit Drukgyel Dzong. Also visit the famous Paro Taktsang Monastery – called “Tiger’s Nest” (2hrs hike from the base camp) & Kitchu Monastery. The overnight stay will be at Paro.
Day 6 DEPARTURE
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Paro Airport for your onward journey, carrying wonderful memories of your Bhutan tour with Imity Travels.
